Who is an Engineer? An Engineer is a person, who is able to explore his mind, can work efficiently with machine and have the knowledge of gadgets, technology and other sciences. But we all must know, what now have became the exact definition of Engineering in India..!! An Engineer is a labor who possesses only one Brain but forced to use that as if he have many of them and can perform multitasking. Engineers here are not the normal people, believe me, they are extra ordinary because they are ordered to work continuously for six days without a pause, included they are provided with additive helps for academics in the form of assignments. Yes, this is what we live for..!! okay I agree, we are okay with the assignment's thing, but then what about regular tests that are conducted instead of the internal examinations. Isn't that enough? no not at all because we have been given the tag of an ENGINEER, now any one can exert pressure upon us as we are capable of consuming it...! We can study six subjects with five units each, in just three months, which is said to be the semester of six months.
Engineers are advised to kill their livings of prestige and glory, the life of comfort and pleasure, they are ordered to suppress our emotions and feelings, sentiments and odes with the burden of heavy books and bowed shoulders. It is quite simple, either do not let yourself into engineering or face all such hardships and difficulties that comes your way and tackle them bravely. Now the dilemma of an Engineer is, whether he lives his life or become an successful engineer. Another situation that prevails here is, according to the statistics 68% of the students are not even capable of being an engineer even after their training session.
Hence, the stubborn decision of the families, and implementations of their dreams on their children results into disasters. I should rather say that parents try to Impose their decision on their children in order to make them what they were never able to become in their lives. well writing such a harsh statement was not at all intentional, it was just a heart feeling that comes out of most of the students who are forced into engineering by their parents. If we Introspect, the dilemma now dominates every student who is into engineering, because the level of syllabus is very standardized and system of implementing policies are very basic.
According to some baseless policies, Engineering college pressurize students by implementing creepy policies and by creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Students are not given chance to create an overall development of their personalities by ignoring curricular activities. This dilemma follows all level of hierarchy and exist at each level of college's system.
So in the end, all I want to tell you guys, who are thinking about to get themselves into engineering in their future is THINK TWICE AND ACT WISE, there are plenty of engineers in our country, in fact more than required. So do engineering only if you have complete interest in it, or you will also have to face the same dilemma. This is not to demoralize you guys, it is just to aware you that engineering is only and completely beneficial if you have certain levels of interest into the technical( core), science and Mathematics. Do not do it if you are only trying to prove your guts. Engineering is a very lucrative field but only if done with comprehension. Never let yourself fell into a dilemma that even I use to feel :) (sometimes). Other than this Engineers are smart people with good brains. So decision is your's. All what is important is that Live your life completely, because respect does not comes only to engineers or doctors, Instead it inherited, To gain respect is in your blood, if it is...!
